Old Warbird

The B-17, known as the Flying Fortress, was the workhorse heavy bomber of the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. The B-17 conducted daylight precision bombing raids against strategic German industrial and military targets for bases in southern England and Italy.

Seventeen crew members who flew on B-17 missions received the Medal of Honor.
